ANNOUNCEMENTS
The thanksgiving eve SERVICE on Wednesday, November 24th will be in the new Sanctuary not in the Borchers Chapel, as listed on the newsletter calendar.
Pastor Jim Simson will lead the services today. The sermon title will be “In Search of Happiness” and the children’s sermon will be titled “Blessed Persons”.
VOLUNTEER LISTS—The Volunteer lists for Lectors, Greeters Communion Assistants, Altar Care and Running the Projectors, are being updated. If you would like to be added to the lists please sign up at the Welcome Center. If you would like to have your name taken off the lists please contact Wendy in the office.
THE WELCOME CENTER is asking for volunteers to sign up for 2011, so we can do a rotation similar to greeters and etc. If you can help, please sign the sheet at the Welcome Center. If you have time requests, put them by your name.
1’S & 2’S—In the mood to try something different on a Friday night? All adults are welcome to join the Ones & Twos Friday, November 12 from 7-9 PM at the Construction Zone in Seymour. We will play indoor putt-putt golf, eat pizza, and enjoy fellowship. For details call Matt or Trish Tangman @ 497.3166.
TODAY after the 10:15 service the Tweeners will be going on a scavenger hunt to gather items for the Human Services Food Pantry. The Items we are collecting are cereal, pancake mix, oats, syrup, Pop Tarts, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, Hamburger Helper, canned soups, canned veggies, toilet paper. Tweeners meet in the Fellowship Hall after the 10:15 service for lunch (pizza will be provided). Then we will leave for the scavenger hunt and will be back to the church around 1:30 pm.
JR. HIGH YOUTH will meet today at 4:00 pm. We will be making cookies in a jar and drinks mixes in a jar. The meeting will last until 6:30 pm supper will be served before Confirmation begins.
THE POWER OF A SIMPLE GIFT-It’s time to share the joy and hope of God’s love through gift-filled shoe boxes that go to hurting children around the world. Operation Christmas Child National Collection Week is slated for November 15-22. We will be accepting packed shoe boxes, items to be packed in the shoe boxes, and money donations from now until November 14. Items suggested for shoe boxes include: school supplies, hygiene items, other items such as small cars, dolls, balls, hard candy, gum, a personal note. Please do not include used or damaged items, war-related items such as toy guns, knives or other weapons; chocolate or food; liquids or lotions, medications, aerosol cans or breakable items such as snow globes. The junior high youth will be serving breakfast and taking free will donations to help offset the postage expense for the shoebox service project. The breakfast will be held on Sunday, November 14 between services. The Jr. High Youth will need to be at the church by 8:30 am with their items for the breakfast and after the breakfast the youth will be packing shoeboxes.
BREAKFAST FOOD DONATIONS are need for the Jr. High Breakfast. A sign-up sheet is available at the shoebox display table for those who would like to help out by donating a breakfast item. Thank you!

The St. Jude Heroes luncheon was a success. We exceeded the goal of $500 thanks to your generosity. A special thank you goes out to the Luther League who hosted the meal.
RUTH CIRCLE will meet on November 11th at 7:00 pm. Connie Knoke is hostess and Bible study leader.
A LIBRARY WORKDAY is scheduled for November 10th from 9—11:00 am. Volunteers are welcome.
TREATS will be on Wednesday, November 10th. The theme is “Taking Care of Us”. Please bring a canned food items to be donated to the local food pantry. The meal for the evening is potato soup, chicken and rice soup, carrot and celery sticks, jello with fruit, and chocolate sheet cake.
CROSSLIFE MINISTRIES/LCFS will meet on November 15th at 7:00 pm. The host church is Immanuel with Redeemer/Jonesville. During this meeting the Election and Installation of officers will take place.
EMANUEL’S HARVEST FESTIVAL will be November 14th at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dudleytown, 2174 w. 750 E. Seymour. The serving is from 3:30-7:00 pm.
TRINITY LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL will be selling Florida Fruit. Orders must be placed by Friday, November 12th and pick up is tentatively scheduled for the week of December 6th. If you are interested in purchasing fruit, call the school office at 524-8547.
