RESULTS of the Election for Council members: Susan Holle- Financial Secretary, Susie Schnitker-Secretary, Louis Wonning-Deacon, Doug Fish-Elder, Ben Rorick-Trustee.

A BLOOD DRIVE is begin held today in the Preschool room from 8—1:00 pm.

Reformation Sunday: October 31st is the Sunday set aside to celebrate the Reformation. We ask that you wear red that day.

BAZAAR SIGN-UP SHEETS are at the Welcome Center.  

Memory Book:  As part of the morning worship service for All Saints Day, we will be remembering those who died in the past year.  There will be a memory book on the welcome center for individuals can write a name of a person who died in the past year that you would like to see remembered during the All Saints Day service.  Any questions, please talk with Pastor Steve.

NEED ITEMS: For the November TREATS we are making Friendship Soup Mix. We are in need of regular canning jar lids and rings, various dried beans including lentils, black beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, baby lima beans, black eyed peas, navy beans, green split peas, and yellow split peas. If you are able to donate any of these items, leave them with Carolyn.

VOLUNTEER LISTS—The Volunteer lists for Lectors, Greeters Communion Assistants, Altar Care and Running the Projectors, are being updated. If you would like to be added to the lists please sign up at the Welcome Center. If you would like to have your name taken off the lists please contact Wendy in the office.

THE WELCOME CENTER is asking for volunteers to sign up for 2011, so we can do a rotation similar to greeters and etc. If you can help, please sign the sheet at the Welcome Center. If you have time requests, put them by your name.

TRUNK OR TREAT will take place at the Picnic Grove on Friday, October 29th at 6:30 pm.

OPEN HOUSE— You are invited to celebrate Orville Schnitker’s 80th birthday at an open house at the Hamilton Township Fire Station, today from 2—4:00 pm. No gifts please.

We would like to say Many Thanks for all the prayers, visits and cards. Special thanks to Pastor for the hospital visits, Wayne for taking care of our yard, and Leah and Trish for surprising Bob with the antique tractors display.

Give thanks to our missionaries.  We are collecting thank you cards to send to ELCA missionaries who are spreading God's word all over the world.  If you are into making cards, this is a way to share your talents with others who appreciate contact from home.  Include your email address or the church's and you might get an email saying "thanks for the thanks". Cards (without envelopes) may be turned in to the office or to Trish Tangman by November 5th.

TWEENERS will be going on a scavenger hunt in November for items for the Human Services Food Pantry. Items we are collecting are cereal, pancake mix, oats, syrup, Pop Tarts, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, Hamburger Helper, canned soups, canned veggies, toilet paper. If you would like to donate any of these items, you can leave them in Carolyn’s office.

THE NEW DARTBALL SEASON is getting ready to start if you are interested in playing please contact Merrell Otte.

IF ANYONE is interested in becoming a member of the Adult Bell Team please speak to Jo McGrew.

THANK YOU to everyone that donated food and helped the with  LCFS/Crosslife Luncheon. 

VOLUNTEERS that are baking turkeys for the bazaar can  pick up the turkeys on Monday, November 1st at 10:13 am in the Fellowship Hall.

BAZAAR FOOD —Please have all food items for the bazaar meal to the church by 11:00 am on Friday, November 5th.

ITEMS for the Bazaar Craft Area may be placed in the church office. Please have the items priced. Thank you.

THE POWER OF A SIMPLE GIFT-It’s time to share the joy and hope of God’s love through gift-filled shoe boxes that go to hurting children around the world. Operation Christmas Child National Collection Week is slated for November 15-22. We will be accepting packed shoe boxes, items to be packed in the shoe boxes, and money donations from now until November 14. The junior high youth will be serving breakfast and taking free will donations to help offset the postage expense for this service project. The breakfast will be held on Sunday, November 14 between services. Please plan to join us! Items suggested for shoe boxes include: school supplies, hygiene items, other items such as small cars, dolls, balls, hard candy, gum, a personal note. Please do not include used or damaged items, war-related items such as toy guns, knives or other weapons; chocolate or food; liquids or lotions, medications, aerosol cans or breakable items such as snow globes.
