Monthly Meeting Recap

NOVEMBER

Group name: We decided to be called “WINGS” (Women in God’s Service).
Officers: The following positions were filled:
President – Erin Engelau
Vice President – Jodi Brown
Treasurer – Mandy Otte
Secretary – Jamie Baker
Treasurer’s Report: current balance in the Star of Faith account is approximately $x.  We will try to secure one of the Wednesday night Lenten meals as a fundraiser for February\March.

5 mi. walk/run: Is now named “Walk tHis Way”  (the “t” will be a cross on the logo).
It is scheduled for Saturday April 17, 2010 at 9:00am.
Registration forms were presented and are almost finished.  We will wait on our name change at the bank (for check payments), our new web site address and artwork.  Please be thinking of/contacting any businesses that may like to sponsor prizes or donate in any way. We will have flyers at our March meeting for group members to take and hang up at gyms, businesses, schools, etc.  Thrivent will also be contacted for matching funds.
Nursery: Staffing of the nursery is off to a good start and already being utilized by a few children.  We need more volunteers, especially for 10:15 service, so a rotation can be set up.  See Michelle, or add your name to the sign up sheet.
Funeral dinners: Our group is back in the rotation for preparing and serving funeral dinners at church.  A sheet was passed around for members to list best contact information and when and how they could help.  Susan Kaiser has the list and will be calling volunteers as needed for each dinner.  If we have enough volunteers, we would like to send an extra person on funeral days to rotate and help with childcare for the members serving.  See Susan for more information or to add how you can help.
Secret Sisters: We have decided to do a program within our group called “Secret Sisters”.  Each member will draw another member’s name and pray for them, send anonymous cards or anything else you find would benefit them throughout the year.  No monetary gifts are allowed, except for a small gift exchange at Christmas. A form will be handed out at the December meeting to take home and fill out, and we will draw names in January.
