John 3:16 Bryce McCory
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Christmas is one of if not the most popular holidays in the United States. There are many traditions that make it a favorite. And if you ask the children what their favorite part of Christmas is you would probably get one answer: “Presents”! Most adults would agree as well. Giving and receiving presents can create some fun Christmas memories. However it is important to remember the reason for the season. Christmas is when we remember and celebrate the birth of Jesus! But let’s also remember why Jesus was sent. Jesus was sent to this Earth because of God’s unconditional love for us. Love is a central theme in the bible. There are numerous books and passages about God’s love. However, John 3:16 stands out. God’s love for us is sometimes difficult to comprehend. After our countless sins, He sent his one and only son to die for our sake. This act will forever be the greatest gift ever received.
Dear Heavenly Father,
You are most gracious. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. Help us spread the word of Your amazing love to others. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen
