Readings for the Day:
Leviticus 2:12-13: The offerings included salt to keep the food from spoiling and as a way of showing hospitality to God. We should include excitement, joy, and zest in our giving.
Colossians 4:5-6: Being wise bring us respect, especially among outsides. We are to make the best use of our time in speaking mostly about God and not idle talk or gossip.
Mark 9:50: Having salt in ourselves, spiritually speaking, means being moved by the Spirit to be lively in word and deed about our faith in Jesus. Peace is important because it invigorates and builds up our common goal of spreading the Gospel.

Questions To Ponder:
1— Why were offerings to the Lord given with salt? Spiritually speaking, what should we include with our offering to the Lord? (Leviticus 2:12-13)
2—Why is it important to be wise about what we say? (Colossians 4:5-6)
3—What does it look like when we have salt in ourselves, spiritually speaking? (Mark 9:50)
4—How do these texts speak to you today?
Prayer: Thank you, dear Jesus, for enlivening us through your birth and for making us vital and vibrant people in what we say and do in your name. May our words and actions help others to growth in their faith and draw closer to you. Flavor us all with your favor and blessings. Amen.
